US vice-president JD VANCE called for European countries to adopt “the new AI border with optimism and non-apprehension” and to adopt a lighter touch to technological regulations during his first big trip abroad since its entry into office.
“We want to embark on the AI revolution before us with the spirit of openness and collaboration, but to create this kind of confidence, we need international regulatory regimes that promote creation,” he He declared Tuesday to participants at the top of the action of artificial intelligence in Paris.
Echoing the grievances disseminated by American companies against Europe’s efforts to slow down major technologies, Vance called for AI regulation which does not “strangle” the emerging industry.
