JD Vance says that Elon Musk is going anywhere

Vice-president JD Vance said Thursday that Elon Musk will still have a place in the orbit of President Donald Trump.

“Of course, he will continue to be an advisor,” said Vance to “Fox and Friends” Thursday morning of the status of Musk. “And by the way, Doge’s work is not even close to finished. Elon’s work is not even close to finished.”

Speculations have turned to the future of Musk, given its central role in the inability of the Republicans to elect a conservative judge at the Supreme Court of Wisconsin.

Musk and his Super PAC spent at least $ 20 million on the race, which, according to the billionaire, was at the heart of the survival of “Western civilization”.

Some Republican legislators have also rubbed the radical fire from the White House office in the middle of the declines of their voters. Musk is considered the de facto chief of the Doge Office.

Vance’s comments underline how Central Musk has become on Trump’s orbit. The richest man in the world spent more than $ 291 million for Republican candidates before the 2024 elections, mainly focused on Trump’s help to recover the White House. Musk also has X, which has positioned itself as the main social media platform for conservatives. Musk would also have pushed Trump to choose Vance, who has a venture capital training, as a running mate.

“Basically, Elon will remain a friend and an advisor to me and the president, and he has done a lot of good things,” said Vance.

Musk, said Vance, signed up for a commitment of about six months. It is not known what the vice-president meant, since Musk faces a deadline of 130 days as an employee of the special government. The 130-day period would end at the end of May or early June, although there are few teeth in the actual deadline beyond the possibility of a trial.

On Wednesday, the White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, minimized a politico report that said that Trump had told members of his inner circle that Musk would soon leave the administration. Musk also called the “Fake News” report.

“Elon Musk and President Trump have both publicly said that Elon will move from the public service as an employee of the special government when her incredible work in Doge is finished, “wrote Leavitt on X.

Trump’s executive decree set up the Doge Office envisaged that this ended with the 250th anniversary of American independence on July 4, 2026. In the past, the White House was also troubled on the 130 -day calendar.
