Hunter Dobbins threw a fresh pomegranate in the rivalry of Yankees-Red Sox before even letting go of his first throw.

The recruit right -hander playing for the favorite team of his childhood declared before his first departure as a visitor in the Bronx on Sunday evening that he “Retirement would retire” before playing for the Yankees – A comment that drew the attention of Jazz of Trash-Talker Chisholm Jr.

“I just said:” We are going to kick the ass tonight “”, said Chisholm about the pre-match message he shared with his teammates.

Dobbins, 25, inherited his father’s Red Sox Fandom, and told Boston Herald that this first trip of the season at Yankee Stadium “is the one I have been running for a long time”.

“I have already said that if the Yankees were the last team to give me a contract, I would retire,” he added.

You can imagine the reaction of the agent of Dobbins, who certainly knows that if his client presents well enough at the start of his career to one day become a desired free agent, then it is good to make Yankees in an auction war.

The reaction of Yankees fans to the introduction of Dobbins (2-1, 4.06 ERA) was surprisingly tamed-perhaps an indication that his words had not yet reached the masses.

After 11 years in rivalry as a player and coach, the manager of the Red Sox, Alex Cora, expected Dobbins to face vitriol.

Cora also made known “on the disc” that he would have played for any team to maintain his career before retirement.

“I always said that when they put the microphone in front of you, you can say what you want,” said Cora. “It’s going to be hostile anyway. He just added a little more, I guess.”

The manager of Chisholm and the Yankees, Aaron Boone, both thought of the amount of waste that they have noticed in recent weeks during the NCAA baseball tournament when they reflect on the remarks of the Dobbins.

“I don’t think I would never say (what he said). I have the impression that it closes the doors,” said Chisholm, who has become a fans’ favorite since he was acquired from the Marlins last season. “I like it, however. I like competitiveness. “

Dobbins told the Herald that his father, Lance, became friends with Andy Pettitte during his own career as a minor league.

The youngest Dobbins hoped to reach a career career on the radar pistol on Sunday – a sign of the amount of energy was going to run in his veins during the first round.

“It adds a lot of spice,” said Chisholm. “You appreciate it. You are more locked up as a fan because you know what’s going on. I think it’s fun, at least.

Boone was almost short of words when he reacted to the anti-Yankees of Dobbin.

“He’s young. We’re going to leave that,” said Boone. “I don’t think it’s an excavation to our players. It is an interesting comment as a player to do that, but I think it’s a comment from his love for his team.”

The Yankees stop stop, Anthony Volpe grew up in New Jersey in the exact opposite situation – as a fan of the life of stripes.

When asked if the fan or the player thought it was disrespectful, Volpe refused to comment.

But the old best hope had to think about a moment of his life on what it might be written by the Red Sox instead of the Yankees, right?

“Be where your feet are,” said Volpe.

Chisholm is no stranger to the role of villain.

He became a public enemy n ° 1 for the Royals fans – hooked tirelessly – in a eliminatory series last October when he said that Kansas City was “lucky” to win match 2 in the series.

He described Maikel Garcia as a “painful loser” to have tried to “injure Volpe” with a hard slide.

The Yankees return to Kansas City for the first time since Tuesday.

“I love it,” said Chisholm. “This is the spice you need.”
