For the second time this season, Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

Tatum is the first NBA player this season to earn multiple Eastern Player of the Week awards, having won the first weekly honor of the 2024-25 slate on October 28.

Tatum received his accolade for the week of December 30 – January 5, averaging 25.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game of that stretch. The Celtics went 3-1 over those four games, beating the Raptors, Timberwolves and Rockets.

Tatum’s best game over the best week came against Minnesota on Jan. 2, with the forward recording 33 points (6-17 3FG), nine assists, eight rebounds, and three steals in what was a 118-115 win.

The 26-year-old forward became just the second NBA player this season and the second player in Celtics history to post at least nine assists, eight rebounds, six three-pointers, and three steals in a single game, joining Antoine Walker.

This marks the 12th time Tatum has earned NBA Player of the Week honors, which ranks ranks third in Celtics history behind Paul Pierce (17) and Larry Bird (15).
