Memphis Grizzlies goalkeeper Jaylen Wells was released from the hospital after suffering from a broken wrist in his scary fall on Tuesday evening, agent Aman Dhesi said on Wednesday.
Wells, a starter who is arguing for a selection of all-rookie teams, while making an average of 10.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 79 games this season, will be sidelined for an extended period.
He caught a exit pass from JA MORANT in the 124-100 victory on Tuesday and had gone to soak the ball when the KJ Simpson of the HORNETS inadvertently bet it after trying to catch up with the game. The contact made his balance lose in the air, and he landed awkwardly on his side while his head slammed the courtyard near the base line.
Wells had broken down for eight minutes before being raised by medical staff on a stretcher, their head immobilized. He was taken to the hospital, where he had movement in all his ends, said interim coach Tuomas Iisalo.
The match was delayed by 23 minutes, including the warm -up time for the two teams. After a proofreading review, managers called a flagrant Foul 2 on Simpson for unnecessary contact, which is delivered with automatic ejection. After the room, Simpson immediately leaned to check the wells and was visibly distraught while Wells, a choice of draft in 2024 of the state of Washington, was treated in the silent arena.
