Jay Leno makes bold prediction about the future amid LA wildfires

As firefighters, first responders and volunteers continue to battle California’s wildfires and bring relief to those in need, Jay Leno shared his thoughts on what the future of Los Angeles could look like.

Leno, who lives in Pacific Palisades, one of the areas hardest hit by the fire, spoke with Anderson Cooper this week and I spoke about the devastation.

“You know, it’s incredible, it’s the largest natural disaster – 9/11 was not a natural disaster – but it’s literally on this scale. I mean, it’s 10,000 buildings .If you drove all day, you wouldn’t be able to see 10,000 buildings,” he said.

“I mean, you go up on that hill and you look for miles, and there’s nothing,” the 74-year-old continued. “It looks like Hiroshima or just something horrible. It’s an entire city wiped out.”

He then predicted what the area would look like in the next few years, saying, “I mean, Pacific Palisades, that doesn’t exist and probably won’t exist in the next five or six years.” I don’t know how to rebuild yourself from this.

Leno assisted in the relief efforts by cooking and providing food to the crew as they fought fires at various locations, including the Rose Bowl. Other celebrities who publicly support relief efforts include Jamie Lee Curtis, Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Sean Penn as well as several members of the Kardashian family. Actor Steve Guttenberg was also on scene to assist firefighters.

Fans shared their appreciation on social media for Leno, like one who commented: “I always thought Jay Leno was a decent person and this is one of the reasons why I do. Thanks @jayleno for your participation. God bless you!

“Anderson, thanks for chatting with the good guy @jayleno as he serves hot meals and helps support crews fighting the fires… Thanks, Jay Leno! ♥️🙏🤗,” said another .

As of 12:29 p.m. local time on Wednesday, the Palisades Fire had burned more than 23,000 acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire). Nearby firefighters were also battling the Eaton Fire, which had burned more than 14,000 acres as of midday Wednesday local time. The two fires, which authorities say broke out on Tuesday, January 7, were less than 50 percent contained as of Thursday afternoon. At least 10 people have died due to the devastating conditions.
