An owner affected by the accident, who did not wish to be named, said: “It was around 6:15 p.m. They were driving and revving the engine, and the car just hit the property.

“It overturned and hit our house… They must have been going at least 60 mph. There are so many residents here that they could have hit children. Luckily, no one was hurt.

“In the end, they didn’t care. They walked around for a while. They pulled up their hoods and left.

She added: “There was no concern for anyone’s safety and I am concerned that they will face no consequences for their actions.

Emergency services attended the scene, but fortunately no one was injured in the accident.

The man said firefighters were “pretty prompt and very quick” to respond.

He said they turned off all gas and electricity, then evacuated their family from the house to assess its safety.

The husband added: “I’m surprised the car stayed together this much.

“He hit two metal frame fences but still continued before stopping. Causing this much damage to these properties is insane.

“We are grateful that everything is okay. It’s better for the car to hit the building. We were lucky no one was hurt. We could so easily have been killed.

“When the accident happened at 6:15 p.m., it was prime time so we could take out the trash for the next day.

“Our neighbors could have sat outside or worked in the garden. »

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 6.16pm last night to Park Lane to reports of a vehicle that had crashed into a house.

“It appears that two occupants of the vehicle left the scene before police arrived.

“Investigations are underway to locate them. »
