After an entire series of playoffs without their two best players, the stars of Dallas returned one of them in the programming of match 1 in Winnipeg on Wednesday evening.
Stronger Jason Robertson, who was tried a head coach match decision Pete Deboer on Wednesday morning, made his debut in 2025 in the first game against the Jets in Canada Life Center. Defender Miro Heiskanen remains absent, but should come back this series later.
Robertson, the team’s top scorer, had been released since April 16 with a knee injury suffered in the season’s final against Nashville. He represented 35 goals and 45 assists before his injury.
“He is our top scorer,” said Deboer. “But also what you realize with Robo is that he is a big body, and he plays a heavy game, a match of the eliminatory type. It is hard for the washers, protects the rings, will mark areas on the ice. It is good on the walls. We have missed it since it came out.”
In his absence, Mikael Granlund went to the upper line of Dallas with Roope Hintz and Mikko Rantanen. In the last matches of the series against Colorado, this line turned out to be the best of Dallas, and Deboer did not want to divide it at Robertson’s income.
This meant that the top scorer of the stars found himself deeper in the programming on a line with Mason Marchment and Wyatt Johnston.
Heiskanen has been released since January 28 with a knee injury suffered against the Golden Knights in Vegas. The best defender of the stars collected 25 points in 50 games this regular season.
It has been daily since the start of the playoffs, but has still not seen ice in the playoffs.
