Jason Momoa shaves hair to promote ocean conservation, single-use plastic

Jason Momoa is embarking on a “fresh start” to help the environment.

The ‘Aquaman’ actor, long known for his thick mane, shaved off most of it to draw attention to protecting the oceans from plastic waste.

Momoa posted a video to her Instagram account, holding a shaved braid in her hand as the rest of her head was shaved.

Momoa supports the reduction or elimination of single-use plastics and is the founder of Mananalu Water, which sells water in aluminum bottles and uses profits to remove plastic from the ocean. The company claims that aluminum is much more recyclable than plastic.

“Here’s a new beginning, let’s spread the aloha. Let’s better protect our lands and oceans. We must eliminate single-use plastics from our lives and our seas,” Momoa said in the video.
