The needs of Buccaneers are obvious: Defense! Defense! Defense!
They have only six choices, including the 19th in the general classification, and they return all their offense. Thus, it would not be a surprise if most of their selections were spent for defensive players.
The BUCs, of course, raise nothing, even a receiver in the first round.
Tampa Bay re-signed Chris Godwin and became Mike Evans, but coach Todd Bowles said at NFL owners last week, a receiver with the 19th choice was not out of the question. Managing Director Jason Licht accepted Thursday.
“Yeah, we could Always use receivers“Said Licht, via Joebucsfan.com.” I think Todd even said that you have to score points to win. So we are fortunate to have these two (Evans and Godwin), and who knows how long they will play? Could be longer than people say. »»
Godwin is 29 years old and left an injury that ended his 2024 season. Evans will be 32 years old in August. So, soon, the BUCs will have to consider replacements.
“We always want to try to keep this group fresh and, you know, looking for the next J-Mac (Jalen McMillan),” said Licht. “We are not going to neglect this position at all, if everything falls this way for us.”
