Jason Kelce Joins ESPN for NFL Monday Night Football After Retiring from Eagles: ‘MNF Got Even Better’

Jason Kelce is joining ESPN’s Monday Night Football coverage following his retirement from the NFL, it has been confirmed.

“Monday Night Football just got better, Congratulations @JasonKelce,” read a statement on the official social media account for Kelce’s hit podcast, New Heights.

This came shortly after The Athletic first reported that the former Eagles center was moving into the broadcast booth.

Kelce retired earlier this year after a Hall of Fame career that saw him spend 13 years in Philadelphia, winning the Super Bowl in 2018.

His next move had been the subject of intense speculation and, according to The Athletic, the 36-year-old was wanted by several networks.

NBC, CBS and Amazon are reportedly among those interested in hiring Kelce, who already opines on football and beyond in weekly episodes of New Heights.

But ESPN won the battle for his services, and Kelce is expected to be part of the “Monday Night Countdown” pregame show.

This is despite Kelce previously appearing as an analyst on Amazon Prime’s Thursday night show. He and his wife Kylie also filmed a documentary – “Kelce” – on the streaming service in 2023.

This represents another coup for ESPN, following the announcement that former Patriots coach Bill Belichick will join the network as a weekly guest on “The Pat McAfee Show” during the NFL season . Nick Saban will also serve as an analyst on ESPN’s “College Gameday” following his retirement from Alabama.

Kelce spent part of his bye week in Chicago last November, serving as a guest on Panthers vs. Panthers coverage. Bears.

“It was mind-blowing to see the operation that goes into a game, and how seamlessly and professionally it’s all done,” he said at the time.

“It was an incredible experience, thank you Amazon, I’m truly honored for letting me do this and be a part of the broadcast.”

“You killed him,” his brother Travis told him.
