Jane Fonda awards a prize to Justine Triet at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival

Jane Fonda launched an award behind Justine Triet’s back at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

When the director won the Palme d’Or on Saturday for “Anatomy of Autumn” and accidentally left the scroll on the podium, Fonda tried to report her.

When Triet didn’t hear the 85-year-old actress’ pleas, Fonda took matters into her own hands and threw the certificate behind the winner’s back.

Although the parchment pointed Triet in the back of the head, she didn’t seem to notice as he hit the ground behind her.

Twitter users hailed the ‘Barbarella’ star’s move, calling her a “queen” with an “excellent shot”.

Fonda stunned at the annual awards show in a sequined black dress, chain necklace and matching earrings.

The Oscar-winning actress documented her Cannes weekend via Instagram, from her pose with Eva Longoria to her first encounter with Kate Winslet.

The event comes nearly a year after Fonda shared her cancer diagnosis.

“I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma,” the Emmy winner wrote via Instagram in September 2022. “It’s a very treatable cancer. 80% of people survive, so I feel very lucky.

By December of that year, Fonda was in remission after undergoing chemotherapy, which she called “the best birthday present ever.”

Fonda has maintained her health with constant workouts since then, saying at an event in February that “you have to be able to have sex.”

While the Golden Globe winner joked at the time that she didn’t “remember too much,” she divulged details about her sex life to Andy Cohen in July 2022.

She told ‘Andy Cohen Live’ listeners that her sex life improved with age, but acknowledged that she would currently describe her sex as ‘private’ and ‘solo’.
