Jamie Carragher’s ‘drunken’ interview with Jadon Sancho after drinking eight pints at Borussia Dortmund’s famous ‘Yellow Wall’ has left the CBS studio in hysterics.

The Liverpool legend-turned-pundit was sent to watch Dortmund’s Champions League semi-final win over Paris Saint-Germain with the home fans.

Carragher said he had no difficulty getting a beer before the match as he greeted his new Dortmund “family and friends”.

Viewers were then treated to a hilarious post-match chat between Carragher and Sancho, on loan from Manchester United, who had an impressive evening.

Carragher, wearing a Dortmund scarf, conducted much of the interview with his arm around Sancho, leaving the CBS studio panel bursting into laughter.

Dortmund will lead 1-0 against Paris in next Tuesday’s second leg thanks to Niclas Fullkrug’s first-half goal.

As Carragher lined up alongside Peter Schmeichel to conduct the post-match interviews, a worried Abdo asked him: “Are you sober enough to do this Jamie?”

He responded, “You know, that’s actually a good point. I didn’t eat too much. I ate a cheeseburger around half past two.

“That might explain why I may have trouble speaking because I drank about eight pints in the Yellow Wall.

“I have a new family, family and friends. We all took care of each other.

Carragher then spotted Sancho and invited him for a chat, immediately putting his arm around the Englishman as he was handed a microphone.

“I just visited the Yellow Wall, my first experience. Obviously, you know this very well since you have been here before. It was one of the best experiences of my life – incredible,” Carragher said.

Sancho praises Dortmund’s support before Carragher continues: “The great thing about the Yellow Wall is the atmosphere, it’s not the best view in the world but I think you played well .

“But Thierry Henry, Alessandro Del Piero and Micah Richards are in the studio and they are absolutely delighted with your performance.”

Sancho responds: “I appreciate it but we still have to go to Paris and do the work there.”

The cover then cuts to the studio, where Henry is slumped on the desk with his head in his hands and Del Piero is rocking from side to side.

After Schmeichel asks about Sancho’s England ambitions for Euro 2024, Carragher, with another hand on his shoulder, asks the winger what Dortmund means to him.

“That’s a great question. I came here when I was 17 and they gave me the opportunity to play professional football, so I’m delighted with the staff and the players who welcomed me back,” he said.

Sancho then answers a question about his future with his United before Carragher continues to wax lyrical about the yellow wall.

But he warns Sancho he may have to drink eight pints before standing alongside the fans.

Schmeichel had clearly seen enough, sending his colleague to the “trash can” after Sancho left.
