Jamie Carragher was angered by Antony’s antics after he produced a “horrible” performance in Manchester United’s 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

The former Liverpool defender probably enjoyed seeing his old rivals humiliated at Selhurst Park on Monday night as goals from Michael Olise, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell inflicted a 13th Premier League defeat of the campaign.

Carragher directed much of his criticism at Casemiro, who endured a particularly poor night, while shots were also fired at manager Erik ten Hag and Brazilian Antony.

The Sky Sports pundit was left annoyed by footage of the winger engaging in dialogue with team-mates Mason Mount and Andre Onana after the full-time whistle.

“Leave the field!” » shouted the former defender. “Whispering behind your hand, you were absolutely horrible.

“He’s probably talking about one of the players or someone else, or the setup, or the manager, get off the pitch.

“Shut up and come in. You got beat 4-0, whispering, talking – honestly, it’s embarrassing.”

Antony has failed to repay the £86million spent to sign him from Ajax in 2022.

The 24-year-old followed a sluggish debut campaign with an even worse season in which he recorded two goals in 28 league appearances.

United missed the chance to climb above Chelsea and therefore find themselves in eighth place with just three games remaining. The Red Devils seriously risk missing European qualification this season.

As for Palace, they continued their good form under the management of Oliver Glasner, who replaced Roy Hodgson in February. The Eagles extended their unbeaten run in the league to five games.

They had plenty to thank Olise, with his brace helping the Eagles secure the points. The in-demand winger got the better of United’s makeshift defense, particularly Casemiro.

Carragher told the 32-year-old to “call it a day” and move to Saudi Arabia or the MLS after his dismal performance.

“I said at half-time that he (Ten Hag) had to bring Casemiro off,” Carragher said. “I know he has kids on the bench, but I think Casemiro, very serious, should know tonight as an experienced player that he only has three games left at the highest level. The next two games championship and the cup final (FA).

“And he should be thinking, ‘I have to go to MLS or Saudi Arabia.’ I’m very serious. He’s getting older, the people around him have to tell him it has to stop.
