Jamie Carragher warned that Liverpool needed a huge new signature next summer, despite the first dominant season of Arne Slot in the Premier League.
The Reds maintain a strong lead at the top of the table, while Arsenal follows them by 12 points with eight games to do. Liverpool is five victories of the abandonment of a 20th record English high flight, placing them at Manchester United.
They have lost only one match in the League this season – a 1-0 defeat of Nottingham Forest in September – and five others in all competitions.
More recently, PSG rebounded Liverpool outside the Champions League, just a few days before Newcastle refused the niche of its first Merseyside trophy during the EFL Cup final.
Despite these minor imperfections, the inaugural season of Slot in the northwest was a resounding success, because Liverpool already has a hand on the title of the Premier League.
However, Carragher insisted that his former team still had a lot of work to do on the transfer market. Liverpool legend has appointed six positions that Reds must strengthen if they wish to rely on the success of this season.

“When a team wins the league, you anticipate one or two large signatures to move the juggernaut,” said Carragher at the Telegraph.
“In all honesty, looking at Slot’s squad, he feels that he might need six before next summer.”
Carragher noted that Liverpool must add depth in defense, especially in the central rear, if they wish to avoid a “crisis” in the absence of Virgil Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.
He also identified the left back and the central midfielder like other positions where Liverpool could do with other legs.
The former defender added: “Liverpool needs a left back to compete with Andy Robertson, extending the Anfield career of the Scottish captain by reducing the need for him to play every match.
“They need a central back to ensure that there is no crisis if Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté are not available. Also a deep central midfielder so that Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister are not as overloaded next season as in it.
Carragher continued by arguing that Liverpool could benefit from the addition of more attacker weapons, including a new attacking midfielder and two other attackers to facilitate the burden of goals of Mohamed Salah.
“Add to that an attacking midfielder that will mark and create more than Dominik Szoboszlai.

“And finally a left winger and a center-forward who can win matches as often as Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool will win the title of Premier League if they win their next five games.
Since they are out of all the cup competitions, the slot men will have a one -week rest between each match, while their title rivals Arsenal is still in the Champions League and compete against Real Madrid in the quarterfinals next week.
Liverpool will go to Fulham the next on Sunday, while the Gunners face Everton on Saturday.
