Jamie Carragher has criticized Manchester United after their humiliating 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, calling them “one of the worst coached teams in the Premier League”.

It was another miserable outing for Erik ten Hag’s side, who had no answers for the Eagles at Selhurst Park.

Michael Olise scored two brilliant goals while Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell also got on the scoresheet as Palace tore United apart.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the match, Carragher said: “They’re one of the worst-coached teams in the Premier League, that’s a fact.”

United were missing Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford that evening and their team-mates failed to turn up in their absence.

“Your performance level will go down when you lose your best players,” Carragher said.

“Ten Hag needs performance, he needs conviction.

“You have to make us believe there is something here. I struggled to see how United would win tonight.

“No United team should be beaten 4-0 by Palace. Man United’s U23 team, I would still expect them not to lose 4-0.

“I’ve never been a coach or manager, but I’ve been a player and some of the things I see are just wrong.”

Ten Hag was clearly not impressed with his team’s defense during Olise’s opening goal.

The striker received the ball on a throw-in in the center of midfield and beat challenges from Christian Eriksen and Casemiro before scoring.

And Carragher was scathing in his assessment of United’s efforts.

He added: “There is no way in the world the ball is going there, Eriksen has to go in here.

‘Mainoo goes ahead, what is Wan-Bissaka there doing nothing. Once again leadership, no one takes responsibility.

“Eriksen is knocked to the ground, Casemiro was a joke tonight.”
