Kansas City Chiefs player James Winchester said teammate Travis Kelce was “smiling and blushing” when Taylor Swift attended his first game.
On Wednesday’s episode of the “Like a Farmer Podcast,” the long snapper spoke to Pat Spinosa about the moment he found out the “Bad Blood” singer was in Kelce’s family suite during their game against the Bears from Chicago last September.
After initially believing Swift’s appearance at the game was “made up,” Winchester said the Chiefs equipment manager showed him the pop star from the sidelines.
Winchester, 34, then detailed walking up to Kelce while they were on the sidelines during the game to show him Swift.
“I’m like, ‘Hey man, it’s cool, she’s here,’ and he’s like, ‘What do you mean? Did they put it on the Jumbotron or something? and I’m like, ‘No, no, Jay just told me,'” he recalls.
Winchester said his teammate started “smiling and blushing” at the fact that she was there to support him.
The father of three said that after beating the Bears, he and Kelce “went up the ramp and he and she got in a cart.”
James, who shares three children with wife Emily Winchester, said he met Swift “later that night” and the “first thing” the “Cruel Summer” singer said to him was: “Are- Are you that guy with the cute kids?” ?”
Travis and Swift, both 34, took their romance public when she attended this September 24, 2023 game alongside her mother, Donna Kelce.
The Grammy winner showed off her team spirit by wearing a red and white zip-up jacket over a white top.
A few days after the match, the “Catching Kelce” alum gushed about her appearance.
“She looked amazing,” he told his brother, Jason Kelce, on their “New Heights” podcast at the time.
“Everyone was talking about her in a great light and, on top of that, the day went perfectly for the Chiefs fans, of course.”
Swift attended several of her pal’s other games, including the 2024 Super Bowl, in which the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers by three points.
Travis also reciprocated his support by attending a few of the international stops on his girlfriend’s Eras tour.
