A lawyer representing Byu strategist Jake Retzlaff denied allegations in a trial that his client violated, strangled and bitten a woman in 2023.
In a response to the trial of the third court of UTAH judicial district, deposited on Friday, the lawyer for Retzlaff wrote: “Mr. Retzlaff specifically and categorically denies all the allegations that he has bitten, raped or strangled (the woman), which are ridiculous and bizarre allegations, all false.”
The answer indicates that Retzlaff and the woman, identified in the trial brought in May as Jane Doe AG, had consensual sexual relations at Retzlaff’s apartment in November 2023 and that they had light text messages in February 2024. After filing the prosecution, Byu published the following declaration:
“The university takes very seriously all allegation, following all the processes and directives mandated by the title IX. Due to federal and university laws and practices for students, the university will not be able to provide additional comments.”
