Jacksonville – The Jaguars have their new defensive chief.
Anthony Campanile, a 19 -year -old veteran who worked with one of the best defenses in the NFL in 2024, was appointed the new defensive coordinator of the Jaguars.
The team announced the hiring of Campanile on Thursday.
Campanile, 42, spent the 2024 season with Green Bay packers as seconds coach and defensive game coordinator. The packers ranked seventh in the NFL in ’24 in the race defense at 99.35 yards per game and third in the NFL at 4.0 yards per authorized attempt.
Packers, a team from Joker NFC with a file of 11-6 in 2024, ranked sixth in the NFL in points authorized in ’24 (19.9) and fifth in authorized yards (314.5).
Campanile, which played collegially at Rutgers, will enter its sixth season of the NFL in 2025. He spent 2020-2023 as a coach of the seconds of the Dolphins of Miami.
Campanile resulted in eight collegial seasons: Michigan (secondors, 2019); Boston College (co-defensive coordinator / back defense, 2018; Backs defensive, 2016-2017); Rutgers (Large receptors, 2015; Tight Ends, 2013-2014; Defensive Assistant, 2012-2013).
Originally from Fairlawn, NJ, Campanile led seconds to Fairlawn High School in 2006 and was the defensive coordinator of Don Bosco (NJ) PREP in 2007-2009 and the offensive coordinator of Don Bosco in 2010-2011.
