Jadon Sancho scores for Borussia Dortmund as Manchester United struggle against Burnley

Jadon Sancho, on loan from Manchester United, showed Erik ten Hag what he was missing with a fine strike against RB Leipzig.

Sancho, who returned to Dortmund on loan in January, opened the scoring against RB Leipzig with a superb finish in the 20th minute of their Bundesliga clash.

After latching on to a poor clearance, the United outcast produced a few nice touches before deftly hitting the ball straight into the corner of the net.

Celebrating the goal, Sancho listened to the fans at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig, who gave him a stick.

It might be easy to see why given that RB Leipzig fans must be sick of the sight of the England international, who has scored more goals against them than anyone else in his career, this being his sixth.

And it also comes as United have been hard at work in the Premier League, struggling against Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

They could only secure a 1-1 draw against the Clarets, with Antony scoring his first Premier League goal before Zeki Amdouni equalized from the penalty spot.

Ten Hag banned Sancho after a dressing room row when the striker criticized him, leading to an acrimonious exit in January, with Dortmund bringing him back on loan until the end of the season.

It remains to be seen whether the two will catch up this summer, with neither showing particular promise.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s radical changes at Old Trafford could spell trouble for Ten Hag, whose side have underperformed this season.

Sancho, meanwhile, has failed to live up to the hype following his sensational move to United in 2021, scoring just nine Premier League goals since his £73 million move.

The Red Devils are set for a big summer and the 24-year-old could be let go in order to attract new players, with Crystal Palace star Michael Olise already linked.

It remains to be seen whether Sancho could end up staying at Dortmund, which would likely force United to lose a significant sum of what they paid three years ago.

Despite a goal lead against RB Leipzig, Dortmund ended up being beaten 4-1.

It’s the worst possible preparation for the Bundesliga side as they face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Edin Terzic has the chance to take BVB to their first European final since 2013 – which also took place at Wembley – but faces an uphill battle against a rampant PSG side.

The French champions knocked out Barcelona in the previous round and are desperate to send Kylian Mbappe out with glory.
