Jack Grealish admitted that 2024 was “the most difficult year” in his life.
The former Aston Villa captain was part of a Manchester City team which won a fourth title of the consecutive premier last season.
However, he only started 10 championship games in this record campaign, before missing a place in the England team for Euro 2024.
Grenalish who became a father for the first time in October of last year, when his partner Sasha Attwood gave birth to their daughter Mila Rose – was again used as a bit player by the city boss Pep Guardiola this season .
On Saturday, he played the complete 90 minutes that the fourth time since October, when he helped City to exceed Leyton Orient in FA Cup.
Addressing journalists after this 2-1 victory, Greallish thought about 12 difficult months.

Grenalish said: “ last year, all year round, it was weird because my little girl was born, but other than that it was one of the most difficult years – probably the ‘The most difficult year of my life for many reasons, the field.
“I found it really difficult. But it’s a new year, a kind of new start, and I hope I can go from here.
“I have the impression that in my last games I played – against Palace, Salford and Orient – I try to get more involved in goals and assists.
“Listen, I want to start playing more often and have this rhythm – the way I was a few years ago when I played a lot of games in a row.
“I sometimes find it difficult to enter and get out of the games, without really playing. I hope I can train and play some additional games.
A large part of Grenish’s match time this season has taken place in the Cup competitions. But with the defending champions 15 points from the summit in the Premier League, these tournaments must now serve the main priorities of the city.
Then, Grealish and Co is a confrontation with Real Madrid during the first stage of its eliminations of the UEFA Champions League.

Reflecting the surprisingly delicate match on Saturday, in which City dragged against the opposition of Ligue 1 at halftime, Grenish added: “ a lot of credit must go to Orient – they were in progress.
“The fans were brilliant, their goalkeeper was brilliant and I love playing in a field like this. I got into the ranks and it brings me back to my childhood.
