Hansi Flick does his best to keep Lamine Yamal based on dazzling performance against Inter in the Champions League.
Yamal shone in the 3-3 draw and was widely praised for her influential performance.
Flick was asked about the teenager before the Barça match against the real Valladolid and says that the teenager can be a genius, but he must always work hard.
“He knows what I want from him. When you are able to play at this level, you must prove it again. It is not just a match,” he told journalists.
“All players have the potential to improve. It is not only a question of talent and genius, but also of effort.
“When you want to reach the level of Ronaldo, Messi and the big ones, you have to stay calm and see what’s going on.
“But we are very happy that he plays with us and that he is at this level. But we know that he must work hard to stabilize at this level and improve even more. This does not stop here.”
Flick hopes that Yamal will be able to help dismiss Barcelona in the Champions League final, but before that, it is a trip to the bottom of the Liga.
