“I salute Qatari intelligence organizations that have managed to infiltrate us with an incredible recruitment of two agents,” the former senior official of Shin Bet said in an interview with 103FM on Thursday.
Segev accused the advisers of Prime Minister Netanyahu, Eli Feldstein and Jonathan Urich, of working directly for Qatar. “In the recruitment of an agent, there are stages: first, identifying the objective, which was the Prime Minister’s office,” said Segev.
“Then, the identification of the recruitment, contact, activation and coverage objective. We are in the activation and coverage phase,” he added. Segev described the coverage of so-called “companies”, in reference to the allegations that Feldstein and Urich have accepted Qatar bribes.
“I ask a simple question: among all the advisers and lobbyists of the world, how did Qatar find two in the Prime Minister’s office?” Can anyone explain this to me? “
Segev highlighted the dangers posed by Qatari infiltration. “Qatar is an enemy state. The strength we have known from Hamas on October 7, can only be attributed to one country, and it is Qatar. Whoever helps my enemy to develop in this way is an enemy state.”
“The appointment of an actor head of Shin Bet is a serious security error.”
Tibia’s head
Segev also expressed his concern about the appointment of an actor chief of Shin Bet, declaring: “The most important organization of the State of Israel is the Bari of Tibia, and appointing an actor head, there is a serious error for the security of the country, whatever the policy.”
“The actor’s head is the worst position for the organization. The author authority is not the authority of the head of the organization,” said Segev. “People will see him as a temporary power that will not be there tomorrow.”
In addition, Segev warned that the instability of the position could potentially affect the tibia agenda. “The ambition of an actor’s head is to become the real head, and it will act in a way that aligns with the one who can name it.”
Regarding the “S”, the current candidate expected to fill the Shin’s head post, Segev said: “I have known him for 25 years, he is a great guy. So what? ”
“If he has aspirations to be the leader of the organization, will he go against the Prime Minister who is supposed to name him? No matter how strong he is and good. He will not have the choice. Everyone will naturally behave in this way.”
The former senior SHIN BET official also revealed who he believed to be the most appropriate candidate for the head of the service: “If I look at who faced the first four heads, there is one that I will mention by their name: Yair Sagii (Roli), who occupied each post in the organization. He previously contributed for the role against Ronen Bar.”
