Israel will build 22 new colonies in the West Bank, some of which along its eastern border with Jordan, a development that the Minister of National Defense declared “would strengthen his grip on the territory” and “would prevent the creation of a Palestinian State”.
The plan, which was approved by the security firm, comes when Israel faces the growing pressure of European allies to end its 19 -month war in Gaza, which destroyed large parts of the coastal enclave, killed tens of thousands of thousands and triggered what international aid agencies say they are a hunger crisis. The expansion of regulations is a violation of international law, according to The United Nations Human Rights Office.
