Update ():
Genki now has a live website page showing a video (animated render) of the accessories attached to the “next handheld”, which looks like a Switch 2.
No huge surprises here: the console looks exactly like the previous leaked images and the Genki “replica” shown at CES, although it showcases the new Joy-Con connections very well.
No official word yet, of course. There’s still a small part of us that’s hoping that all these leaks and teases are misdirection on Nintendo’s part and that a showerhead-looking console will be revealed soon. Watch this space.
Original story: Last week, accessory maker Genki announced that it would be showing off “Switch 2” accessories at CES 2025, and now it’s delivering on that promise.
These new products would be presented “behind closed doors” and the German media Netzwelt shared some photos online. Along with a look at a dock with attached Joy-Con controllers, a “Switch 2 Replica” model is also on display.
According to reports, attendees can supposedly “get a feel” for the Switch 2 with this replica model. The post also gives details about the new Joy-Con – mentioning that there is now an additional button on the right controller.
Some other media outlets have also shared video footage of Genki’s “Switch 2” replica and Genki representatives are apparently claiming that these accessories could launch as soon as April.
Nintendo has said it will announce the Switch’s “successor” at some point during the current fiscal year (ending March 2025).
