Is Scottie Scheffler playing in the 2024 PGA Championship? Masters champion misses Wells Fargo

Scottie Scheffler is the hottest name in golf right now, but his inclusion in the 2024 PGA Championship is far from certain.

The American has won the Masters twice with a superb performance at Augusta last month, but he missed the Wells Fargo Championship this weekend.

And with the prestigious PGA Championship looming, it’s possible the world number one won’t compete in this one as well.

Is Scheffler playing in the 2024 PGA Championship?

Reports suggest that Scheffler will be involved in Valhalla and that he is listed in the field, but there is no official confirmation from him regarding his team yet.

He missed the Wells Fargo Championship because his wife, Meredith, was expecting the birth of the couple’s first child.

However, Sports Illustrated’s golf reporter, Bob Harigsaid the baby was born and Scheffler is expected to compete in the PGA Championship.

The 27-year-old is currently on the interview schedule for the PGA Championship, leading to speculation he will be involved.

Of course, his inclusion in this tournament isn’t guaranteed until someone officially confirms it, but all indications are that Scheffler’s wife has given birth and the American is expected to play.

But if this information is not true and the baby is not born, you can expect Scheffler to miss this event.

This is because he plans to prioritize his family over golf.

Speaking after his latest Masters victory, he said: “I’m definitely going to enjoy the birth of my first child, and my priorities are going to change very soon, so golf will be fourth in line.

“But I still love competing. I don’t plan on taking my eyes off the ball anytime soon.”

So this is all a bit up in the air at the moment.
