Next April, a familiar face will appear The days of our lives: Michael Dietz, who played Dr. Joe Scanlon in General Hospital spin-off Port Charles from 1997 to 1999.
Summary of the series reports that the day vet will stick around for one arc, but was unable to provide any details on which character he will play. Our intuition? Dietz will take on one of two roles: either Doug 2.0’s father, the former Dougie LeClaire, or Kristen’s brother, Peter Blake, who has been MIA from Salem since 1998.

If Dietz is Dougie, he might speak sternly to his son and, if the child is really lucky, offer him a second chance with the loved ones to whom he poses such a threat. If the actor is Peter… well, we’d like to say that maybe he could provide a stabilizing force for his twisted sister. But more likely, Kristen would come up with some harebrained plan for him to take Ava away from Brady so she can have Rachel’s dad all to herself.
Besides Port Charles – he was the first of three Joes on the show – Dietz also appeared on Bold and beautiful as the son of Clarke Garrison and Margo Maclaine (The days of our lives‘Lauren Koslow) and Guiding light replacing Alan-Michael Spaulding (following the departure of Rick Hearst, now Ric on General Hospital). Since 2002, Dietz has been married to Paige Rowland, once Kit on All my children. (That’s her with Dietz in the photo at the top of this story.)
