Is it really worth money? It’s still another bad day for Var while Motherwell struck after winning the Balmer Red Cardboard

Motherwell wondered if Var turns out to be worth money after Kofi Balmer won his call against the red card, he was shown against Kilmarnock on Saturday.

The defender caught Fraser Murray on the rugby park thigh as he cleared his lines in the 26th minute

The referee of the match Matthew Macdermid saw nothing wrong until Var Andrew Dallas suggests that he revise the incident on his instructor on the pitch side.

Despite the contact clearly resulting from Balmer who simply followed after launching the ball, he was sent.

Motherwell has lost the 2-0 match and now needs to beat hearts at home this weekend to have a chance to do the top six of the Première.

Although Balmer can now play in this match after the SFA confirmed that it had won its appeal, Motherwell published a strongly written statement in which they questioned the standard of waterproofing and the topflight clubs in progress in Var.

After checking the video, Macdermaid decided to send Kofi Balmer by Motherwell

Balmer could not believe it – but has since been canceled his red card

He read: “We can confirm that the Kofi Balmer’s red card has been canceled and that the defender is available to face Hearts on Saturday.

“The club is delighted that the right decision was finally made.

“However, this does not move away from the fact that Motherwell played with ten men for more than 75 minutes in an important match just before the split.”

By referring to Dan Casey’s successful call after being bizarrely returned to Killie in December, the press release continued: “This is the second time this season that the club had to go through time, effort and expenses to call on a decision of the red card.

“We have concerns that Var considered that it was an error as an obvious referee in the first place. Again, the field examination released the bad result.

“We spend a large six -digit sum each season towards the operating costs of the VAR at the stadium.

“There have been eight cases so far this season when Motherwell has been directly affected by what was later considered as an incorrect arbitrator or var decision.

“These errors continue throughout the season, for all clubs, will have a direct impact on the place where the teams will finish in the final classification, which obviously determines the finances of each club.

“We hope that with the financial commitment put to the club to use the Var, combined with the frustration that our fans obtain from the game because of the intervention of the Var, we note a significant improvement in its implementation in the future.”

Meanwhile, it was said on Tuesday evening that Alan Muir had left his high -level Var role after a series of errors this season.

The 49 -year -old would have left his post by mutual consent after discussions with Collum and the director of Var Martin Atkinson.

It is believed that Muir will always be available to act as an observer referee in the future, but will no longer take the games of the Var stand in Clydesdale House.
