Dubai, the United Arab Emirates – a fourth cycle of talks between the United States and Iran, which was to take place in Rome on Saturday, has been postponed, and a new date will be set “according to the American approach,” said a senior Iranian official on Thursday.
Earlier Thursday, Iran accused the United States of “contradictory behavior and provocative declarations” after Washington warned consequences to support the Houthis of Yemen and imposed new oil-related sanctions on this subject in the midst of nuclear talks.
“American sanctions against Iran during nuclear talks do not help the parties to resolve the nuclear dispute by diplomacy,” Iranian official in Reuters told. “According to the American approach, the date of the next series of talks will be announced.”
Oman, who was mediating previous sessions of Iran’s American talks, said the next nuclear discussion cycle provisionally planned on May 3 would be reprogrammed for “logistical reasons”.
The United States said the weekend meeting had never been confirmed, but that it expected the talks to happen soon.
“We expect another series of talks that will take place in the near future,” said journalists, the spokesperson for the State Department.
At the same time, the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araghchi, wrote on X: “With Omanais and the American interlocutors, we decided to postpone the 4th round of talks for logistical and technical reasons.
“On the part of Iran, there is no change in our determination to guarantee a negotiated solution,” he continued.
“In fact, we are more determined than ever to conclude a fair and balanced agreement: guaranteeing the end of sanctions and creating the confidence that Iran’s nuclear program will forever remain peaceful while ensuring that Iranian rights are fully respected.”

In addition, the spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baghaei, said that Tehran would continue to commit “seriously and resolutely” in the negotiations focused on the United States, reported the state media.
US President Donald Trump, who threatened to attack Iran in the event of diplomacy failure, reported his confidence in the winning of a new pact with the Islamic Republic which would block the Tehran path towards a nuclear bomb.
Trump, who has restored a “maximum pressure” campaign on Tehran since February, abandoned a 2015 nuclear pact between Iran and six world powers in 2018 during his first mandate and reproduced paralyzing sanctions against Iran.
Iran, which is enslaved to the destruction of Israel, insists that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, but enriches uranium at levels far beyond all civil use and obstructing inspectors for the verification of its nuclear installations.

Iran and three European powers – Great Britain, France and Germany – had to meet in Rome on Friday to improve tent links, Araghchi said on Wednesday. However, the senior Iranian official who spoke to Reuters said Thursday that it was now “not certain” to know if the Friday meeting would continue.
Washington imposed sanctions on the entities she has accused of participation in illegal oil and petrochemicals on Wednesday.
In addition, the Secretary in the United States of Defense, Pete Hegseth, warned Iran that it would face consequences to support the Houthis, who control northern Yemen and attacked ships in the Red Sea in what they say to be solidarity with the Palestinians in the middle of the War of Israel with the Hamas terrorist group in Gaza.
Washington has been bombing the Houthis in intensively since mid-March, reaching more than 1,000 targets. Tehran says that the Houthis – whose slogan calls for “death to America, death in Israel and a curse on the Jews” – act independently.
