Iran threatens to annihilate Israel if it launches a major attack

DUBAI (Reuters) – An Israeli attack on Iranian territory could radically change the dynamic and result in nothing left of the “Zionist regime”, the Iranian president says. Ebrahim Raïssi the official IRNA news agency said on Tuesday.

Raisi began a three-day visit to Pakistan on Monday and pledged to increase trade between the neighboring countries to $10 billion a year.

The two Muslim neighbors are seeking to rebuild ties after unprecedented military strikes this year.

Explosions were heard above the Iranian city of Isfahan on Friday in what sources said was an Israeli attack, but Tehran downplayed the incident and said it had no plans for retaliation.

Iran launched a barrage of missiles and drones at Israel on April 13 in retaliation for Israel’s alleged deadly strike on its embassy compound in Damascus on April 1, but almost all were shot down.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran will honorably continue to support the Palestinian resistance,” Raisi added in his speech in Lahore.
