iOS 16.5: the new features to land on your iPhone

Apple released iOS 16.5 to the general public on May 18, nearly two months after the tech giant released iOS 16.4. The latest iOS update provides some important bug fixes and security fixesbrings some new features to Apple News and offers new wallpapers.
However, some people reported that the update drained their iPhone battery faster than usual. Apple has already said it’s not unusual after an iOS update, and iPhones may need 48 hours to adjust to new features in an update. So if your battery drains quickly after this update, it should go away soon.
To download the latest iPhone update, go to Settings > General > Software Update and follow the on-screen prompts.

Pride celebration wallpapers
New Pride Celebration Wallpapers in the new Pride Wallpapers section.
Apple has added two new preloaded Pride Celebration wallpapers to a new Pride Wallpapers section. This section is “designed with the colors of the Pride Flag to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community,” reads its description.
You can access the new section by pressing Settings > Wallpaper > + Add New Wallpaper.
Apple News gets sports upgrades
THE Apple News launched in 2015, and iOS 16.5 brings a Sports tab to the app for the first time. The tab is in the toolbar at the bottom of your screen when you open the app. Previously, the toolbar displayed tabs for Today, News Plus, Audio, Tracking, and Search. The update removes the Research tab to make way for the Sports tab.
With iOS 16.5, My Sports Scores and Calendar Cards in Apple News are also getting an update. Now when you press the three dots (…) in the lower right corner of any of these cards, you will see an option to Go to game. Tapping on this option will give you more details about this game.

This update includes the following improvements and bug fixes:
• A new Pride Celebration wallpaper for the lock screen to honor the LGBTQ+ community and culture.
• The Sports tab in Apple News provides easy access to stories, scores, standings and more for the teams and leagues you follow.
• My Sports scorecards and schedules in Apple News take you directly to games pages where you can find additional details about specific games.
• Fixes an issue where Spotlight may become unresponsive.
• Fixes an issue where Podcasts in CarPlay may not load content.
• Addresses an issue where Screen Time settings may reset or not sync across all devices.
