The Blanchester Schools Foundation was instrumental in securing a $3,000 grant to help create the Grade 4 accelerated reading program at Putman Elementary.
Program Director Raechel Purdon identified the need to expand the fourth-grade library and wrote the grant rationale and evaluation criteria. Amy Albrinck and Claudia Maltz of International Paper presented the check to Geri Earley and several fourth graders on Tuesday, November 29.
The funds will be used to purchase new books to expand the AR library. The students were thrilled to receive the “big check” and will make even greater progress in reading with the addition of the new books.
