Tannenbaum had known Glenn since 1997, when Glenn was the Cornerback Pro Bowl des Jets and Tannenbaum began as director of the team’s players. In 2012, Glenn returned as a scout, and he said to Tannenbaum – then the GM of the team – he thought he wanted to be Managing Director. The team wanted to help him. What Tannenbaum remembered this conversation was that Glenn was the only former player to have asked if the team would pay him to get an MBA, the jets said yes, but after that, Glenn went to the ‘Training and started its long ascent at the top, which included stays to the staff of Cleveland Browns coaches, in the New Orleans and, more recently, a defensive coordinator for the Lions of Detroit.
Once, Elhai asked Woody Johnson, if he could take any coach of any sport and give this person’s attributes to the Jets de New York jets, who would choose. The two agreed: Bill Parcels.
