NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WHNT) – The Alabama Department of Corrections says an inmate who escaped on Sept. 30 has been recaptured.
Phillip Russell Deason, 66, was picked up around 9:45 a.m. Oct. 13 in Nashville by the Metro Nashville Police Department.
At the time of his escape, Deason was incarcerated at the North Alabama CBF/CWC under minimum community custody for Theft of Property I, with a sentence dating back to December 13, 1999.
According to ADOC, Deason surrendered and no violence was involved.
