Influencer slams ‘ridiculous’ moment of body positivity after losing weight

A popular YouTube star has spoken out against the body positivity movement after revealing she lost 30 pounds (13.6 kg) without exercising.

Influencer Shallon Lester took aim at plus size singer Lizzo and also slammed ‘body positive lunatics’ for criticizing Adele for losing weight.

The 41-year-old has been candid about her own weight loss, admitting she initially limited herself to just 800 calories a day and also used the prescription drug Ozempic to help her reduce his blood sugar.

Ozempic is used mainly for people with diabetes, but one of the side effects is that it reduces appetite.

Shallon, who is hypoglycemic, was prescribed the drug after seeing an endocrinologist, who diagnosed her as “pre-diabetic”.

“I don’t like being fat,” she said bluntly in a YouTube video. “And if you have a problem with that, grow up.”

She added: “I’ve wasted years of my life trying to like myself fat, and I’m not happy fat. I’m happy when I’m thin.

‘Be the size you feel comfortable in. But you must be in good health. I don’t mean healthy as Lizzo decides, healthy as a doctor decides. What is your BMI?’

Shallon now feels “incredible” after losing weight and isn’t ashamed to say so.

“I feel like I used to again and really appreciate the compliment that I look skinny,” she said.

She then took aim at body positivity advocates for how they dealt with Adele’s weight loss after the British singer lost an estimated 99lbs (45kg).

“The body positivity freaks just shredded it. Kiss my ass. It just goes to show how ridiculous this whole move is. It’s not body-positive, it’s fat-positive,” she said.

‘It’s ‘I don’t want to do anything to change my body, so damn anyone who wants to change theirs!’ It’s not loving yourself.

Shallon stressed the importance of focusing on health rather than size, and urged people to get a blood test from their doctor and find out their medical weight.

“Get those metrics, get that red flag, because your body is going to give you that red flag,” she said.

“And no, not when you’re 80. When you’re 36 and your blood sugar hits an all-time low and you suddenly have diabetes and you have to start injecting insulin.”

‘It’s horrible. Why? Because Lizzo tells you you should? Fuck her. F**k that bitch. I have a lot of problems with her. She says yes very unhealthy behavior and it hurts people.

“I don’t think many of us are happy when we’re fat. I don’t know. If we know and have experienced that our body is thinner, how could we be?”

Hearsay is a term often used in psychology that means to state things positively, whether good or bad.

Shallon then admitted that she only ate 800 calories a day when she started her diet, but has now increased it to 1,200.

Women in Shallon’s age range are recommended to eat between 1,800 and 2,200 calories per day, which means that Shallon is currently undernourished.

She said cooking meals like turkey helped keep her on track and she tried brushing her teeth if she craved unhealthy foods.

The YouTuber admitted that she doesn’t exercise much outside of Pilates, but hopes to add more exercise to her routine in the future to build muscle.

Lizzo has become an outspoken voice in the body positivity movement and recently launched her own reality series, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, to find plus-size dancers to tour with her.

“There’s a prejudice about people who look like me,” the Truth Hurts singer said in an interview with The Daily Telegraph last November.

“God forbid I have a high opinion of myself or I become famous and successful and sexy and I love myself publicly,” Lizzo added.

In January, she bragged about gaining weight while flaunting her curves in a leotard.

‘I’ve gained weight. I watch TF [the f**k] Well!’ she captioned the video on Instagram.

In a previous interview with Vogue, Lizzo revealed that she’d rather be known for being “body normative” than “body positive.”

She said: “I think it’s lazy for me to just say I’m body positive at this point…I’d like to be body normative.” I want to normalize my body.’

Lizzo added that she wanted to continue paving the way for ‘girls with back fat’ and ‘hanging bellies’, saying, ‘I owe it to the people who started this not to stop here.

“We have to make people feel uncomfortable again, so we can keep changing. Change is always uncomfortable, isn’t it?
