Industrial production fell 4% in October

New Delhi:
India’s industrial output contracted 4% in October, mainly due to a decline in manufacturing output and moderate growth in mining and power generation, according to official data released on Friday.
The industrial production index (IPI) had increased by 4.2% in October 2021.
According to IIP data released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), production in the manufacturing sector fell by 5.6% in October 2022.
Mining output rose a meager 2.5% and power generation rose 1.2% during the month.
