IndiGo confirmed the incident in a statement, saying: “Upon landing in Delhi, the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay as per the safety agency’s guidelines, and the crew followed all standard operating procedures. All passengers disembarked safely and the aircraft is currently being inspected.”
Earlier today, there was a bomb scare on a Chennai-Mumbai flight. Flight 6E-5314 from Chennai to Mumbai received a bomb threat, leading to the declaration of a full emergency at the Mumbai airport.
The IndiGo crew found a note in the toilet indicating the presence of a bomb. The plane landed safely and the passengers were disembarked at the isolation bay. Further security checks are underway.
In less than a week, this is the third bomb threat targeting IndiGo. On May 28, an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Varanasi received a threat. All passengers on board Flight 6E2211 were safely evacuated through the emergency doors.
