Indiana State baseball player tricks everyone with fake home robbery in NCAA tournament game
Indiana State outfielder Adam Pottinger nearly scored a home steal in the Terre Haute Regional game against the Iowa Hawkeyes last weekend.
But everyone watching the centre-back had no idea he didn’t catch the ball when he ran over the fence because he played it perfectly.
Brayden Frazier hit a ball to left field and Pottinger immediately mounted his horse to follow it towards the wall. He walked over to catch it, and in real time it looked like he had caught the ball.

Frazier looked defeated on the base paths as he returned to the dugout, and what happened Saturday in their streak was likely a factor in that.

Pottinger had a fantastic hold on what would have been a home run for Frazier in their previous regional game.
It looked like Frazier couldn’t get enough juice on the ball to get it out of Pottinger’s reach again…that is, until he showed no more ball in his glove.

Pottinger started running towards his position as if he had the ball in his glove, but eventually revealed he didn’t with a smile.
Frazier was able to round the bases, and that made it an 11-8 game with the Indiana State Sycamores in the lead.
This would eventually become the final score of the match, as the Sycomores moved on to super regional. Pottinger went 1 for 3 with three runs scored in the game.

Now Indiana State will head to TCU to take on the Horned Frogs in the super regional with the winner heading to the College World Series in Omaha.
