Srinagar, India (AP) – Indian officials declared that the army had a brief exchange of fire with Pakistani soldiers along their very militarized border in the contested Himalayan region of cashmere, while nuclear rivals have accelerated Diplomatic offensive of Tit-For-Tat After a fatal attack on tourists.

The report of a shooting intervenes in the middle of the arrow tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad after armed men killed 26 people near the seaside resort of Pahalgam in Kashmir on Tuesday. India immediately described the massacre a “terrorist attack” and said that it had “cross -border” links, blaming Pakistan for supporting it.
Pakistan denied any link with the attack, which was claimed by an unknown militant group called the resistance to cashmere.
Three Indian army officials said Pakistani soldiers used light weapons to shoot an Indian position in cashmere on Thursday evening. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity in accordance with departmental policy, said that Indian soldiers retaliated and that no victim had been reported.
In Pakistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs refused to confirm or deny the report. The ministry spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan, told a press conference that “I will expect an official confirmation of the military before making a comment.”
He added that there had not yet been any effort from any other country to make mediation.

In the past, each party has accused the other of starting border skirmishes in cashmere, which both claim in its entirety.
The United Nations exhorted India and Pakistan “to exercise maximum compression and to ensure that the situation and the developments that we have seen does not deteriorate more”.
“Any problem between Pakistan and India, we believe that we can be and should be resolved peacefully, thanks to a significant mutual commitment,” the statement said on Friday.
After the attack, India announced a series of diplomatic actions against Pakistan.
New Delhi suspended a crucial water sharing treaty on Wednesday which resisted two wars between the two countries and closed the only functional land border crossing between countries while reducing the number of diplomatic staff. A day later, India revoked all the visas delivered to Pakistani nationals with Sunday effect.
In retaliation, Pakistan responded with anger Thursday that it had nothing to do with the attack and canceled the visas issued to Indian nationals, closed its airspace for all Indian or Indian airlines and suspended all trade with India, including any third country.
He also warned that any Indian attempt to stop or divert the flow of water would be considered as an “act of war” and encountered “full force through the full spectrum” of Pakistan national power.
Tuesday’s attack on cashmere has been the worst attack for years, aimed at civilians in the region carried out which has seen a Anti-Indian rebellion for more than three decades.
India and Pakistan each administer part of the cashmere. New Delhi describes any militancy in cashmere as a terrorism supported by Pakistan. Pakistan denies this, and many Muslim cashmiris consider activists as part of a fight for local freedom.
