IND Live Team: Why were some players rested for the first two ODIs?
“Rohit (Sharma) and Virat (Kohli) have been around forever and Hardik is obviously an important player for us, we want to manage him. Kuldeep is in great form. It gives us an opportunity to look at some of the other guys as well.” That’s the problem. Luckily we had quite a bit of cricket in the Asia Cup. Otherwise, we could have seen things another way. At one point or another, more than physical, sometimes guys need a mental break, which is not such a bad thing, ahead of the tournament (Cricket World Cup). But in the third game, everyone will be available to play. We will face our World Cup team. It gives us a chance to play against other guys who have “I was sitting out there and it was a strong team,” Ajit Agarkar said.

Team IND vs Aus Live: Shreyas Iyer Fitness Update –
“He didn’t get a stress fracture, otherwise he wouldn’t have been in the team. On the day of the final, he followed his program well, whether it was batting or fielding. At the moment he’s fit and that’s why We picked him. And we hope he gets through these three games. He’s worked incredibly hard over the last few months to be at this stage and be fit and luckily for him it was not a serious injury (the problem) which he recovered from. At the moment he is fine,” Rohit Sharma said about Shreyas Iyer.

Team IND vs Aus Live: Will Ashwin replace Axar in WC team?
When asked if Ravichandran Ashwin would replace Axar Patel if the latter is not fit for the World Cup, Ajit Agarkar said: “There are a few guys anyway, him (Ashwin) and Washington (Sundar) . What we know with Axar (Patel) ) injury he should be fine. Everyone will be fine once we know. But at least it leaves us options. If these guys have a few games now, (it) gives the team management some options if they need them. If the need arises, we’ll probably look into it at that point. But I don’t think there’s any need to speculate now or to make decisions now, because we hope Axar is fit.”

Team IND vs Aus Live: Will there be any changes to the World Cup squad too?
“Not many guys visibly got a break in the first two games. Axar unfortunately got injured and we hope he will be fit. That’s why the two (spinners were added). Washington Sundar was already doing part of the squad for the finals and Ashwin brings experience. So it just gives us options in case at some point we need to look at a few guys. Basically those are the two guys we “We need to look at whether the need arises at some point. But other than that, I think it’s pretty straightforward,” Agarkar said.
