Rescuers continue to search for survivors of the catastrophic three-train collision in eastern Indian state of Odisha, which has become the country’s deadliest train disaster in more than 25 years.
The death toll rose to 288 on Saturday morning, Sudhanshu Sarangi, chief executive of the Odisha state fire department, told AFP. The official added that more than 850 were injured.
