India has launched strikes on several parts of the territory of Pakistan and Pakistan, in a spectacular escalation of tensions between the two nuclear rivals.
Pakistani media report
In an assault, India nicknamed “the Sindoor operation”, the Indian army said that it had hit nine sites in “Jammu-et-Cachemire caused by Pakistan and Pakistan, hence the terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed”.
The Indian Defense Ministry said that strikes were in response to a militant attack that killed 26 people in the cashmere administered in India last month.
Tensions are increasing between India and Pakistan since April 22, when armed men killed at least 26 tourists and injured a dozen others in cashmere administered by India. India has accused Pakistan of having a link with the attack – the worst for Indian civilians for more than a decade.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attacks on India, which took place from day to day on Wednesday, and has sworn that Pakistan would respond with force.
“Pakistan has the right to respond with force to this act of war imposed by India, and an energetic response is given,” said Sharif on social networks. “The Pakistani nation and the Pakistani armed forces know how to face the enemy. We will never allow the enemy to succeed in their harmful objectives.”
A journalist interviewed President Trump about the White House attack.
“It’s a shame, we just heard of that as we were walking in the doors of the oval,” said Trump. “They have been fighting for a long time,” he said. “I just hope it ends very quickly.”
The office of the UN secretary general called for a “maximum military reservoir” of India and Pakistan, saying that the world could not afford a war between them.
It is a story in development.
