As many as 63 representatives from 28 political parties will attend the two-day meeting of the opposition INDIA alliance in Mumbai, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chairman Sharad Pawar said on Wednesday.

The third INDIA meeting will be held on August 31 and September 1 during which they are expected to announce a coordinating committee and logo for the alliance.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday with Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray, Pawar said, “63 representatives from 28 political parties will attend the INDIA alliance meeting in Mumbai.”

Pawar also expressed his belief that the opposition alliance would be a formidable alternative to bring about political change.

Speaking of the alliance, Thackeray said: “Our ideologies may be different, but the goal is to protect democracy. »

Turning to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA alliance, he said the party had no choice for prime minister other than Prime Minister Modi.

“We (the Indian alliance) have a lot of choice for the face of the PM. However, the BJP now has to make a choice (for the face of the PM) because people have seen what he (Prime Minister Modi ) has done in the past 10 years,” the Shiv Sena leader said.

Comparing the BJP regime to that of the British Raj, Thackeray said: “The British also did development work, but if we hadn’t driven them out with all their might, we wouldn’t have achieved freedom. We want development, but we also want freedom. »

Analyzing INDIA further, Thackeray said, “Those (the opposition parties) who consider the whole country as their family have joined hands to save ‘Bharat Mata’.”

Speaking to the media, Maharashtra Congress Leader Nana Patole said, “We are very happy that the INDIA alliance meeting is taking place in Maharashtra… in Bangalore, there were 26 of us (left), here we became 28 (left).” .jaise INDIA badhega, waise hi china peeche hatega.”
