‘Incredible human’ – Finn Balor reveals emotional Bray Wyatt regret that will serve as post-WWE WrestleMania XL plans

Finn Balor has shared his regret over never getting the chance to make The Fiend versus The Demon following the death of Bray Wyatt.

Wyatt, real name Windham Rotunda, tragically died at the age of 36 last August following an undisclosed health issue.

His death had a significant impact on wrestling colleagues and fans, with Balor admitting that he regrets never being able to carry out the in-ring plans he had established with the enigmatic Wyatt for their feud on the ring.

Before his illness, the three-time WWE World Champion had established himself as one of the company’s most popular stars with The Fiend.

Wyatt’s supernatural alter ego made his in-ring debut at SummerSlam 2019, where Balor was his first opponent.

The latter has his own very popular dark gadget, known as the “Demon King” or simply “Demon”.

However, for one reason or another, the two versions were never shown at the same time whenever Balor and Wyatt shared a ring.

The Judgment Day member is in action at WrestleMania XL this weekend to defend his Undisputed Tag Team titles alongside Damian Priest.

Once the dust settles on the entire weekend, Balor has clear plans for the following week.

He’ll settle in to watch Bray Wyatt: Becoming Immortal, the recently released documentary celebrating the life and career of Balor’s close friend Wyatt.

Balor and Wyatt had planned to prolong their feud before the latter's death.

Of the documentary, he added: “I haven’t had a chance to see it yet, but I will next week when things calm down a bit.”

“I’m just talking personally about Bray or Windham; what an incredible human.

“He is someone I had the privilege of working with a lot, not only when I first came into the main team, but also in my second race.

“I always look back with a little sadness that we never got to do The Fiend versus The Demon.

“We had done every other version of the match except that one, and we were hoping to get to that, but maybe in the next life.”

The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest and Finn Balor were speaking to talkSPORT with WWE 2k24, which is out now.
