In recent years, the inhabitants of Myanmar have endured a military coup, civil war,, forced conscriptionair bombardment and a Devastating earthquake. A new difficulty landed Thursday morning, when President Trump ordered a travel ban which included the citizens of Myanmar.
Action is an effort to stop the immigration of nations that Trump has deemed to have a “large -scale presence of terrorists”, among other concerns. The ban on travel, announced by the president Wednesday evening in Washington, is expected to come into force on Monday. This applies to the people of Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
Many of these countries have been struck by conflicts, while others are directed by repressive regimes. In both cases, Mr. Trump’s proclamation closes the door of those who hope to flee to the United States to build new lives.
Citizens of seven other countries – Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela – will be prohibited from entering the United States on tourist and students visas. They will not be able to settle permanently in the United States either
“We will not allow people to enter our country who wish to hurt us,” said Trump in a message on social networks.
