In the Congress speech, Trump should boast of Doge Cuts and Ukraine

President Trump is expected to boast of his assault against the federal bureaucracy and his efforts to upset world relations during a speech to a joint session of the congress on Tuesday, even if his administration faces prosecution on his national program and Europe reprimands him on his treatment of Ukraine.

Addressing his most general television public since his return to power, Trump should talk about the speed at which he reduced reductions in border passages, cuts to the government by the government’s ministry of efficiency, known as Doge and a series of decrees. It should also highlight the need to adopt its legislative program, which includes some 4 dollars of tax discounts.

“He’s going to talk about the great things he has done: the secure border, the waste he finds with DOGE,” said representative Jim Jordan, Ohio Republican and the President of the Judicial Committee, who speaks frequently with Mr. Trump. “He will continue to expose his vision, where he wants the country to go.”

For Mr. Trump, it will be a remarkable return to a room – and a national audience at prospective hours – he addressed himself last time five years ago, before the voters reinforce him from the office and replace it with Joseph R. Biden Jr. The return of Mr. Trump triggered a series of fast actions designed to overthrow decades of politics and diplomacy.

During his first mandate, the president delivered an annual speech to the congress which included a mixture of exaggerations and attacks filled with grievances against his enemies. He is about to redo the same on Tuesday evening, using one of the biggest platforms that any modern president obtains during his stay at the Oval Office.

Trump hinted on Monday that he could use the speech to prolong his public quarrel with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Ukraine after the collapse of the oval office between the two leaders last week. Questioned by a journalist if an agreement to share minerals of the rare earth was still possible after the cries, Mr. Trump said that “I will let you know”, adding: “We make a speech, you have probably heard.”
