A fire completely destroyed a home, at a place called Kerriou Vian, in Plonévez-du-Faou, this Saturday, January 4, 2025. Seventeen firefighters from Châteauneuf-du-Faou, Pleyben, Sizun and Carhaix went to the site with the large scale to contain the fire, from 8:40 a.m.
“When we arrived, the house was completely engulfed in flames,” explained center manager Thomas Le Loupp, who was unable at this time to explain the origin of the fire. According to the owner, a tea light could have ignited clothing. Although the latter was able to leave his home without damage, his two cats died in the fire.
Around 10:30 a.m., the fire was under control, but firefighters remained on site to remove the badly damaged roof.
Enedis agents also went to the scene.
