‘Impeccable’ Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson survives Roman Reigns spear to win comeback match at WrestleMania

“Impeccable” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson survived a spear from Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL to help secure victory in his first major match in over a decade.

Rock and his cousin, Roman Reigns, nearly defeated Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the main event to ensure that Sunday night’s title fight between Reigns and Rhodes will be fought under Bloodline rules.

Their quest for dominance this WrestleMania weekend seemed in jeopardy when a miscalculation led Universal’s undisputed champion Reigns to inadvertently nail Rock with a spear.

But the dastardly duo were ultimately able to secure the victory, with Rock eventually hitting Rhodes with a Rock Bottom and a People’s Elbow to get the pinfall.

The Moana star oozed all his class that night as he made his way to the ring in a typically elaborate entrance that featured a fiery montage of Brahma Bull and Final Boss.

Once the bell rang, Rock showed few signs of ring rust despite not having wrestled in a significant WWE match since a 2013 WrestleMania clash against John Cena.

At the age of 51, he possessed a chiseled physique, thanks in part to a rigorous training regimen that included help from Scottish NXT trio Gallus.

Fans on social media also couldn’t help but notice a post on X saying, “Rock and Roman look amazing!” He presented himself in optimal physical condition.

Another echoed: “The Rock is 51 years old. Absolutely impeccable physique. »

A third praised during the match: “Rock was in constant action for 11 minutes. He’s breathing hard. But it looks amazing.

After Reigns faced Rollins and Rhodes during the opening minutes of the clash, Rock was brought into the fray, first clashing with the World Heavyweight Champion before demanding that Rhodes step up his efforts.

A four-way brawl then ensued as the action spilled onto the arena floor, with Rock giving the referee explicit instructions not to count them out.

This rule-breaking continued for the rest of the fight as The Great One took advantage of his authority as a member of the board of directors of TKO – the parent company of WWE.

The low blows and low blows then flowed, with the Hollywood star regularly goading Rhodes’ family to ringside during the beatings.

At one point, Rhodes and Rollins had rallied and seemed well on their way to victory when they landed a double Pedigree on their foes, only for a dropkick to follow at the last second.

The Rock even then performed one of his own finishing moves, The Rock Bottom, through an announce table as well as Reigns’ errant spear, but he overcame it all to stand tall in the end.

This now means Rhodes must overcome a stacked deck on Sunday night – his title fight with Reigns will now effectively be an anything goes match.

72,000 people were in attendance to watch the first of two nights of WrestleMania XL, and they were treated to epic action, which included a six-pack ladder match that crowned two new sets of tag team champions.

Sami Zayn also ended Gunther’s historic Intercontinental title reign with a shock victory, while former Eagles center Jason Kelce made an appearance alongside teammate Lane Johnson to thwart the dastardly Dominik Mysterio.
