I’m packing this flattering $26 wedding guest dress for my trip to Italy

I’ve attended a significant number of weddings over the past couple of years and have easily spent hundreds of dollars on dresses, some I’ve only worn once. Honestly, my wallet is tired, so I’m currently in my strict budget era. With this new mindset and a friend’s wedding fast approaching, I made it my mission to find a flattering, affordable dress that I could wear more than once this summer.

So I turned to one of my favorite hidden gem retailers to look for a suitable, lightweight dress: Walmart. I’m happy to report that I found the perfect little number that checks all the boxes in the Sofia Jeans by Sofia Vergara Tie Front Maxi Dress, and it was only $26. It’s safe to say I was blown away.

As a curvier woman with a larger bust (36C), I was hesitant about the fit of the $26 dress, but was very impressed with the size range and precise measurements. The green floral maxi comes in sizes XS to 5X, and the lightweight fabric is perfect for warm weather. It is not lined, but the dress is not transparent and I appreciate its lightness because I tend to get hot. Plus, the adjustable straps provide enough support that I don’t need to wear a bra.

The patterned fabric has a crepe-like finish that packs well and doesn’t show creases, meaning I will also take it with me on my trip to Italy this summer without worrying that it will need to be ironed or steamed on my arrival. The knotted detail on the front is flattering and the stretchy back hugs my body without feeling tight. Although the ruffled skirt offers an A-line silhouette, it’s not form-fitting around the hips, so I can forgo the shapewear underneath. It also features one of my favorite details: the pockets. So when I’m on the dance floor, I can keep my phone handy to capture special moments.
