Valencia fans were to be warned during the match that they would be suspended if they continued to direct abuse at the players.
Vinicius JR was then sent off in stoppage time for hitting Valencia’s Hugo Duro in the face.
It’s not the first time he’s been the victim of racist abuse from away fans, with the player also facing racist abuse at Atletico Madrid and Real Mallorca.
The 22-year-old has since engaged in a war of words with La Liga after his latest struggles.

Many footballers showed their support for Vinicius Jr including Musah who came towards the end of the game.
“My support to @vinijr and all the people who have experienced and are going through this in their lives. IF YOUR [sic] RACIST WITH HIM, YOU’RE RACIST WITH ME!” Musah posted on social media.
The former Arsenal youngster also quoted a passage from the Quran, which reads: “And among its signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the diversity of your tongues and colors. There is really signs in there for those who know.”
